DEFENSE AGAINST AN AMBUSH
Since ambushes are more frequent and effective in the Jungle / Wooded Area’s than in any other type of terrain, a unit moving through this area must take all possible measures to reduce its attack by the enemies’ ambush.
The most effective means of countering an ambush is to detect it before entering the kill zone. Counter-ambush drills are also very important to help get your unit ready. Anti-ambush techniques can save a unit from being wiped out. How do you take advantage over jungle / wooded ambushes?
Well, where the foliage grows up to be thick. The unit should move as quietly and quickly as possible. You should make a map or get an aerial photograph of the area in question. As a result, traffic in jungle areas must be recon to detect a likely ambush site.
COUNTER-AMBUSH MEASURES
Your unit must train in counter-ambush measures. The key is early detection followed by reflex-type counter-action, a high volume of return fire, and relentless pursuit. The most effective counter-ambush measures are well-rehearsed wolfpack “action drills.”
Every airsoft player must know exactly what he/she is supposed to do.
The unit should react to an ambush immediately, by firing into the attacker’s without orders or hesitation. Building and retaining fire superiority is the best defense against an ambush. If a patrol finds itself in an enemy ambush, you must get out of the kill zone immediately and take the following actions:
All in the unit must fire immediately picking out the strongest to weakest attacker’s, and quickly move out of the kill zone by the safest way. (There is no set way to do this; it must be each Airsoft Players decision for their situation.)
Grenades can help clear a path in the kill zone. Player’s not in the kill zone need to fire to support the withdrawal of your team in the kill zone.
After the ambushed, the unit should attempt to break contact and reorganize in the last designated rally point. In any case, the rapid call for supporting fire from friendly forces will help the ambushed forces to gain fire superiority and will assist the maneuver to destroy the ambush.
