I know this is a little late, but ive been in and out of the damn hospital, and im about done with this crap. So with that, lets talk about this past tournament day. First game we played was a corona virus style game. Three teams on the field, and each team had to designate one person to be the "Doctor." Only the doctor is able to enter the buildings and cure the building of the disease. Was a fun form of game that we havent tried before. I think it was a very enjoyable game. Squad 1 and 3 gained 3 buildings cured, and squad 2 got 1 building. Was fun watching each squad work together, and can see how each squad is working together. I know the doctors were out of breath after this game.
Second game we played was an extension to this game. Though up by the one and only Karen. One team defending the village as "the cure," were locked into their set buildings, not able to leave. If hit, they held their gun up for 30 seconds then they were back in play. The attackers, "the infected," job was to reinfect the buildings. Once they entered a cured building, that player who was "the cured" was now out of the game. Was fun watching how this went down, and I have several variations of this game in mind we will play in the future.
Third game we played a hair and hounds game since most people left. This turned into a bust as not one bb was fired. I think for now on, hair and hounds will be limited to certain parts of the field. We used to use North of the main path, and we will go back to that. I did get a chance to walk the field though and check out old structured long gone. lol. So there is a plus side to it. lol.
I know most of you come early to the game day to get a game or two in before 10am, but points do not and will not start until 10am when I get there. Also, again, if you leave early, you are missing out on potential point games. We used to play all the way to 5 or 6pm, but in a way, im glad we stop at 3pm now. Gives us time to do shit when we get home, besides passing out from the heat. If we still have six players wanting to play a game, it will still be recorded as points.
Last thing we will talk about this game day, and this is super important and a pet peave of mine, is "learn you distance." This mostly applies to people using sniper rifles or DMR style rifles. I cannot stress this enough. You do not, by any means, shoot within that 100 foot engagement distance. We seemed to have an issue this game day and I dont want this repeated. We do not need people getting hurt because people shot way to close with a sniper rifle. For regular rifles, please understand what ten feet is. It is really really close, so yelling bang when you are twenty or thirty feet away doesnt count whatsoever. Ten feet is closer then you think. I suggest everyone measuring it out, and standing with their gun up to see actually how close you really are. You would be surprised. Lastly, hosing players. A big no no at our field. Semi is preferred on the field, but I will not tell people they cannot used full auto if the game isnt set to semi only. Full auto is good for cover fire, and rushing a building to hit the building to scare the player. When you enter a building, or the village, you WILL use semi auto only, or your secondary weapon. This means in the entire village, and any building/Base/Bunker on the field. Again this is for safety issues.
I know this one was more of a bitch session versus talking about each game we played, but it is really necessary to pound this into every players head. Lets all be safe and have fun playing. As always, call your hits, and know your distance.
End of report..............................
