Let me just start by saying, it is a very sad day when we hear about a fellow player who lost his life. Friends, family, all will be impacted by this, and we will surely miss seeing Kyle out at our field. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family who will deal with the pain of this incident. A down to earth guy, and an honest player. He will be missed. RIP
Well we had a good game day FREE of the damn rain. The sun hid behind the clouds for awhile, so it wasn't completely unbareable. We got several games in this day that were completely different then our normal type games.
The first game we played the Intell game where we broke down into the three squads. We very interesting seeing what squads worked together the best, who was more organized, and who actually took the time to work with their respective squad mates. It doesnt take much, but what effort you put into it, really shows when the horn blows. Hey that rhymes. lol. The objective of the game was, each squad had orders to attack one of the other squads, and grab their intell. Points were awarded for maintaining your own intell, and also stealing another squads intell.
Squad one took the more tactical/stealth approach, and succeeded in the end. They had to defend, which is probably the worst base of the three, and had very little opposition to defend against. They were able to grab squad 2's intell, and escape with not much effort.
Squad two did their best, and focused more on the attack of squad three's base, which hurt them in the end, causing squad 1 to grab their intell. Squad two put a lot of pressure on squad three offensively, which was most likely the reason for squad one's defense to not see much action. I still think squad two did a great job offensively, and coming up with their stragedy, even though their squad leader left for the day.
Squad three started out sending half of their team to squad ones base, but retreated quickly when squad two was trying to over run them. Most of the action for this game was at squad three's base. Squad three did a great job defensively in holding off squad two's attack. Maybe if squad two's leadership was in tact, squad three might have been taken over. All in all, squad three held squad two off. There was only one time where squad two almost got into squad three's base. Close, but no cigar.
Next we played Squad 1 vs Squad 3. This was a challenge set forth a couple months ago, but due to weather, and other crap, we havent been able to do it. This was a quick 15 minute game. Team death match, but if a player did get into the enemy base, the game was over. Both squads played really well, and no one was able to get into the others base. Squad one, won by overall points. Good job.
Next game, we had people who were too tired to continue, so ended up leaving. So we were down numbers, but we still played on. We a game with multiple bases to take over, and hold. At the start of the game, each team went to a different base, and did great holding it. It wasnt until the last thirty seconds that team one was able to force out team two, which gave team one both bases, and the overall win.
All in all was a great day for some bb slinging fun. I will point out, and this mainly refers to people using sniper rifles. All sniper rifles, whether DMR or bolt action rifle. Your MED (Minimum Engagement Distance) is 100 feet. There is no exception to this rule whatsoever. You DO NOT fire at a target that is within 100 feet. We are not out here to hurt people, and we have had complaints about this. So I am putting this out there that you need ot be mindful of this. We will make this an announcement next game day as well. We will also mark off 100 feet to give you an idea of what that distance looks like. This will give EVERYONE an idea of what 100 feet looks like.
Squad two will be getting new leadership. A SL must be their for the squad. Always leaving after the first game, is not going to cut it as a SL. Watching squad two struggle to get things done, was from a lack of leadership. Nothing more. The ASL did his best to get things going, and did a good job with what he had.
Other then that, we had a great day. Rest up, clean your gear, and we will see you all out there next game day.
End of report..........
