Was a good kick off to the long awaited points season to start. We had a great day of playing airsoft, even though only 9 of us showed up today. Its ok, those 9 players got a head start on the points race. The weather has already shown us its going to be a hot year. So make sure we are drinking water, and bring food to eat for lunch.
The first game kicked off with a simple little attack and defend game where it was obvious the teams were equally matched. A god shoot out on several angles on the field, and still no one was able to gain an advantage. The team led my Todd showed good communication skills as the enemy players were constantly being called out in good direction giving. Even though we lost sight of Todd, was still a good game. lol
The second game we did a variant of a game we used to play called Alderaan Civil war, where two teams fight for two control points. Normally we use three control points, but we were short on people. In the beginning both teams seemed to fight back and forth with no signs of a clear winner. Both teams were able to take a base making it an even control of points. Until Todd's team (team #2) finally got a foot hold of the second base. Once they gained control of the second base, they fought well to hold both bases and respawned fast to maintain that control. Team one had a gun go down which caused them to have less people to try and take a base back, which ultimately was their demise. A good fight slinging a lot of bb's. I again was hearing some good communication from both teams. Good job.
We also played a few base defend games using base A. Which appears it now needs some tlc as a wall has fallen. The first game again was a stalemate and Team 2 was able to defend off the attackers. Was back and forth shooting and both teams were respawning a lot. The second game, team one started out defending it very well. Towards the end of the game, we had players guns go down, again making it hard for them to defend the base which led to team 2 to take the base pretty easily. A valiant effort by team 1. Im sure they would of held it off as well had guns not gone down on them.
The final game we played infection using base B. A base as old as the first one we built when we started, yet is standing stronger then the rest of them. As always with infection, it started out slowly, but picked up pace as each players got hit. It might of been a little faster had an attacker not walked off the field leaving it up to one player to continue the attack. Its all good. Shit happens. lol. Was still fun even though I got shot in the side of the head by Trevor. Its not like he couldn't see the rest of my body, but just had to shoot me in the head. Its ok Trevor, I got ya. Just wait. lol.
All in all a good day of airsoft. Very fun even though we were missing about seven players. I know we haven't assigned squads yet, but we will once all squad leaders are there at one time. Remember these are the guys that will be on your squad so take the time in between games to chat and work on plans and strats. We will be doing squad on squad games to see who the big dog will be this year. Well that's it for this AAR so rest up, clean your gear, and be ready for tournament #2.
